Historical Inspiration Behind the Collection
The concept of idols holds deep meaning in this body of work. Inspired by the mysterious women of the Bronze Age, these figurines symbolize earth, water, fertility, and creation.  
As these forms became more abstract, they marked the shift from matriarchal to patriarchal systems. During this era, women played a central role in social life, and survival was deeply intertwined with birth and death.  
The female body giver of life, nourishment, and continuity became a vessel to explain existence itself. Though idols date back to the Paleolithic age, female figurines were discovered in Neolithic Anatolia, including Kubaba in Kültepe, Kybele in Lydia and Phrygia, and Marienna in Sumer.
